| A great club, turned into a great boxer and learnt me great skills. If it wasn't for the club and Jim the trainer, chances are I would of ended up in the life of crime. Any challengers for a boxing fight, then i shall be more than happy to accept. |

i think hullboys is THE place to be for young lads of hull. it helps improve overall sporting ability, helps increase fitness levels and MONUMENTALLY helps gain confidence (also keeps the young lads off the streets, which is always good isnt it :) ALAN and DAVE, the two senior boxing trainers, are ABSOLUTE LEGENDS, and i owe them an awful lot for EVERYTHING theyve taught me (inside and outside the ring) |

Used to go to HBC from about 1958 to 1960. Was just the right place to keep kids off street and getting enjoyment/exercise without mischief. Spent a bit too much time there as homework used to suffer, but the Toast 'n Jam was the best. And the dodgy old snooker tables Great fun playing games in summer on the roof in the cage, and our table tennis skills improved lots. I used to go with Michael Martin, Jeff Marshall (now in South Africa) and other early teenagers - if that name actually had been invented then ! To be recommended to any lad looking for direction. Never did me any harm.
